Jennifer Anne Munson, beloved mother, partner, daughter, sister, nurse, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 44. Born in Northridge, California on August 25, 1980, Jennifer lived a life defined by compassion, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to the people she loved.
Jennifer earned her B.S. in Microbiology from UC Santa Barbara before pursuing her true calling in nursing. She completed her M.S. in Nursing at Western University, becoming a Certified Nurse Practitioner (MSN, NP-C FNP) and serving as an MICN and RN. Her work as an ER nurse at UCI Medical Center was more than a career—it was a place where she touched countless lives with her skill and empathy, and where she met her life partner, Michael Acedo.
To Jennifer, being a mother was the most important role she ever held. She poured her heart into raising her daughters, Anja (8) and Haley (5), and loving her stepson Kaden (15). She was always there for their sports events, cheering them on with pride, and she cherished family time most of all—whether it was spent camping, playing board games, or simply being together. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and the happy chaos of two cats, Clifford and Tiger, and a dog named Trout.
Jennifer had a brilliant mind and a sharp wit. She loved cooking, solving puzzles, Wordle, crosswords, watching Friends, diving into the world of Harry Potter, and getting crafty with her girls. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. She was known for her warmth, her humor, and her strength. Above all, she was “Mom”—and she was extraordinary at it.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother, Cody Munson, whom she loved deeply and remembered always. She is survived by her devoted partner, Michael Acedo; her children, Anja and Haley Acedo; her stepson, Kaden Acedo; her parents, Mary and Robert Munson; her sister, Joy Munson; and her nephews, Austin and Oliver Munson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel. A service celebrating Jennifer’s life will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the same location.
The family asks that donations be made in Jennifer’s memory to the ASPCA, honoring her deep love for animals.
Jennifer’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she adored. She will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
