~OBITUARY~
Joel was born to Gonzalo del Rosario and Adela Espinosa del Rosario, as their eldest of six children, in Manila, Philippines on March 16, 1938. In 1956, at the age of 18, he became an Evangelical Worker for The Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ). While a worker in Valenzuela, Bulacan, he was ordained as a Minister, by the late Ka. Erano G. Manalo, Executive Minister of The Iglesia Ni Cristo at that time, on May 10, 1969. He remained in active service from that day until 1996 when he retired due to an illness. He is survived by: Lily--his wife of 63 years, and his children: Ron, Ray, Liza, Mylene, and Dawn.
He was a loving grandfather to: Adam, Christian, Caitlin, Joel-Roman, and Sophia.
~BIOGRAPHY~
Ka Erdy assigned Joel to America, on May 4, 1971, during The Church's early beginnings in the Far West. The following is a timeline of his active service in the Holy Ministry:
~ 1971-1972: His first Local Congregation, as Resident Minister (RM) in the U.S., was in Stockton, CA.
~ 1972-1977: RM in the Locale of Redwood City, Northern CA. He also oversaw Salinas, Monterey, and San Jose.
~ 1977-1978: RM in the Locale of National City, CA.
~ 1978 for 6 months: RM in the Locale of Jacksonville, FL.
~ 1979 for 6 months: RM in the Locale of Los Angeles, CA.
~ 1979-1983: District Supervising Minister (DM) in the Ecclesiastical District of the Eastern Seaboard. Based in the Locale of Long Island City, NY, he oversaw Locales from Toronto, ON, Canada down to Miami, FL.
~ 1983-1986: RM in the Locale of Seattle, WA. He also helped oversee Portland, OR.
~ 1986-1987: RM in Charleston, SC. He also helped oversee Locales of Atlanta, GA; and Orlando, Jacksonville, and Miami, FL.
~ 1987-1988: RM in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.
~ 1988-1991: RM in the Locale of Los Angeles, CA for the second time.
~ 1991-1995: DM in the Ecclesiastical District of Northern, CA. He also helped oversee the developing Districts of Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Winnipeg, and the Mountain States.
~ 1995: DM in the Ecclesiastical District of the Eastern Seaboard for the second time.
In 1996, Ka Joel officially retired and spent his remaining years with his wife, children, and grandchildren, in Southern, CA.

~ A funeral reception will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, at a banquet hall, with buffet style catering, near the Westminster area. The venue address will be handed out, on the day of the funeral. His family looks forward to joyfully reconnecting with relatives and friends there, as a token of their profound appreciation.
