Jose La Riva

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Westminster Memorial Park located at 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, California. Funeral Mass will be held on February 22, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church located at 14072 Olive Street, Westminster, California. Burial will follow the funeral at the Westminster Memorial Park.

Jose was born August 1, 1925 to Antonio and Genoveva LaRiva in Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jose was married to Consuelo, the love of his life, on November 17, 1951. They were happily married for 61 years.

Jose enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and proudly served our country for 22 years; serving in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

After retiring from the U.S. Marine Corp he worked for Pacific Bell for 20 years. His main love in life, besides his family, were music, dancing and food. His collection of Mexican music was his pride, joy, and relaxation. He was actively involved in his Church, especially the Guadalupe Club at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Jose is survived by his wife, Consuelo, his children; Lorenzo, Dolores and Ramona; his grandchildren; Ryan, Blake and Alexis, his brothers and sisters; Augustine, Viviana, Teresa, Roman, Raul, Mary and Felix.
