

Judith Marie Swan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Huntington Beach, California, at the age of 76. She was born on February 27, 1948, in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, to Marvin and Ruth Haddock. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathy North.
Judith’s early years were marked by a commitment to leadership and excellence. She attended Miami High School in Arizona, where she served as student body president, and went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business from California State University, Long Beach. Throughout her 25-year career as a university administrator, Judith was known for her dedication, intelligence, and tireless work ethic. She always put the needs of others before her own, consistently striving to make a positive impact in the lives of her colleagues, students, and the larger community.
In 1978, Judith married the love of her life, Philip Swan. Together, they built a life rich in love and shared passions. Judith was a devoted mother to her two children, Marvin and Michelle, and a cherished grandmother to Michael, Brandon, Marley, Melanie, and Mikayla. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, and she found immense satisfaction in tracing her ancestry and learning about her genealogy.

Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and ability to listen made her a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and care for her family, her friends, and her community.
Judith is survived by her husband, Philip Swan; her son, Marvin Swan; her daughter, Michelle Swan Farrell; and her grandchildren, Michael Farrell, Brandon Swan, Marley Farrell, Melanie Farrell, and Mikayla Farrell.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm in the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel. A service will follow at 2:30 pm in the Main Chapel, with a graveside service to follow in the Westminster Memorial Park Garden of Angels.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Judith’s name to The Mayflower Society, an organization she held dear.
Judith will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
