LaVerne M Scott

LaVerne was born in Alva, OK on May 18, 1914 to William and Hannah (Lille) Wamhoff. At a young age her family moved to California. She graduated from San Bernardino High School and married her high school sweetheart, Carl W. Scott in 1934. They were blessed with three children and 65 years of marriage.

La Verne enjoyed gardening and loved to watch birds and butterflies. Camping, traveling in their trailer and family gatherings were some of her favorite pastimes. She loved the Lord and was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church where she served as organist and a Sunday School teacher.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl, her son, John and sister, Lucille.

Survivors include son, David Scott (Deanna), daughter, Jo Ann Bartholomew (Ken), daughter-in-law, Theresa Goldsmith (Rock), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to King of Kings Lutheran Church, 13431 Newhope St., Garden Grove, CA 92843.

A graveside service will take place at Westminster Memorial Park Cemetery, 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, California, 92683, on Friday, September 19, 2014, at 10:30 am. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tim Wempner of King of Kings Lutheran Church.
