Marilyn M. O'Donnell

Mom met her husband, Robert (Bob) J.O'Donnell during World War II in Iowa, and they were married in Tennessee, November 25, 1944. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2010.

Mom, a Registered Nurse since 1943, gave birth to Michelle (Mickey) born July 14, 1947 and Maureen February 1, 1950.

She is survived by her immediate husband, Bob, Daughter Maureen and Sister Ellen Swinbank. She has two grandchildren, Julie Moulton and Robert (Robby) Welty. Four great-grandchildren, Ashley Petersen, Jacob Welty, Kiersten Welty and Layne Welty.

A resident of Riverside Air Force Village West, but spent the majority of her life in Huntington Beach, California.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, California, since October 1964.

Hobbies included church, sewing, cooking, flying with Dad in his airplane, bridge, and her love of animals; Gretchen, Winnie, Sam, Crickett, Krissy and Jasper.

Mother succumbed to death from a wheelchair accident, surgery with multiple complications at Riverside Community Hospital on March 4, 2011, and struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for over 56 years. She was diagnosed with this disease in 1955.

She will be sadly missed by her family and wonderful friends.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Westminster Memorial Park. Services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Westminster, 7702 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, Ca 92683, a graveside service will follow the church service at Westminster Memorial Park.
