

He attended Don Julio High School in North Highlands, California; San Juan High School in Citrus Heights, California; the Physician Assistant Program at Duke University in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Santa Rosa Community College in Santa Rosa, California; and the University of California, San Luis Obispo. He was awarded a Physician Assistant License from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture from the University of California, San Luis Obispo.
Rick enlisted in the United States Navy and achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class Corpsman. After serving in the Navy, he worked at Anaheim General Hospital and West Anaheim Community Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist. Subsequently, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard.
Rick is most remembered for his diverse interests, which included reading, photography, horticulture (particularly orchids), hunting, fishing (deep-sea fishing and fly fishing, including the art of fly tying), and riding his Schwinn bicycle. Rick was blessed with high intelligence and had a photographic memory. He knew multiple languages and was an avid photographer.
Rick is survived by his sister, Judith Ann Cochran; his brother, Robert Edward Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Elizabeth Davis, and his father, William Edward Davis.
A committal service will be held at Westminster Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683, United States. The service is scheduled for March 1, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
