She was born on August 30, 1942, in Pharr, Texas, where she spent her early years and attended Buell Elementary School and PSJA High School.
Rosie married the love of her life, Julian Palacios, Sr., and together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. Shortly after arriving in California, Rosa worked as a cotton picker before building a long and dedicated career as an assembler, first at Harvey Aerospace in Long Beach and later in Los Alamitos. She also embraced her role as a homemaker, caring deeply for her family and home.
Rosie was the beloved mother of Sandy and Julian, Jr. Her family remembers her as strong-willed, determined, and full of heart. She was deeply religious, endlessly loving, and known for her good nature and generosity.
Rosie loved tending to her garden and took great pride in her roses, which reflected her talent for bringing things to life. She enjoyed collecting dolls and Precious Moments figurines, and she was an enthusiastic Angels fan who also loved watching the Lakers and Angels.
She found joy in decorating her home for holidays—especially Christmas, when she added warm, festive touches that made her home feel welcoming and special.
Traveling was another source of happiness for Rosa. She treasured the memories she made with her family on trips to Mexico, Spain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and an unforgettable Alaska cruise.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Julian Palacios, Sr., her siblings John Ibanez, Lela Muniz, Richard Ibanez, Alfredo and Guadalupe Cano.
Rosie will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in her family, her home, and the many lives she touched.
