

Tony Montes formerly of Rowland Heights, California passed away on September 21, 2016. Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel with a graveside service to follow.
We celebrate the life of Tony Montes who went to be with his Father, the Lord, after a long battle with Parkinson's on Wednesday September 21, 2016, on the Fifty-Third wedding anniversary for Tony and Lylliam. He resided with his wife in Rowland Heights ever since 77'. Tony was born in Dario, Nicaragua, as Antonio Guadalupe Gomez Montes on December 12, 1939. He met his Future wife, Lilliam in his late teens while on a bus ride to work. They kept a long distance relationship while he served for the Nicaraguan Navy as a Phlebotomists. During this time Lilliam immigrated to the United States. Tony came to the States for his only love in 62'. They Wed near Boyle Heights in the Fall of 63'. For over thirty years, he served the Los Angeles community and retired as a MTA bus driver. Tony embedded himself as a pillar of the community within the church's he attended with his family. Most notably, He helped start and Pastor the Walnut Valley Assembly of God Church in La Puente. Tony was a true man of God. His passions where purely his faith, his family and his work; of whom he served with all of his heart, mind and soul. A real lifelong love story, Tony Montes is Survived by his wife, six children, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. "Let all that you do be done in love" 1 Corinthians 16:14
