

Ella was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Hortness; parents, Archie and Elizabeth Purvis; siblings, Ted (Bertha), Elsie (Harold), Howard (Avalene), Harold and Lorne; sons-in-law, Art Forster and Ray Stanley; in laws, Henry, Lawrence (Dora), Albert (Alice), Newman (Simone), Rueben (Betty), Bill (Marion), Harold (Muriel), Victor (Evelyn), Carl, Goldie (Mike), Melvin & Sylvia (Andy).
Ella will be forever loved and missed by her, daughter, Diane Forster of Regina, SK; son, Dallas (Shirley) Hortness of Toronto, ON; daughter, Cheryl Stanley of Minot, ND; son, Monty (Roxy) Hortness of Weyburn, SK; grandchildren, Cathy (Dave), Sheridan (Erin), Nathan (Suzie), Heather, Erin, Christine (Keith), Danielle (Travis), Vaughn (Dezie), Brody (Sarah); great grandchildren, Melody, Tracy, Rowen, Gaelen, Juno, Rory, Hayden, Finn, Ashlyn, Laken, Laurel, Grey, Rooke and Norah; sisters-in-law, Mavis Purvis and Donna Purvis; 28 nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service for Ella will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Reverend Trust officiating. For those unable to attend the service in person, a livestream/recording of the service will available at Ella’s Memorial site at the Fletcher Funeral Chapel Website.
A funeral lunch will follow the service at Grace Hall and the Interment will follow lunch at Manor Cemetery, Manor, Saskatchewan. Pallbearers will be Vaughn Hortness, Brody Hortness, Blair Campbell, Daryl Campbell, Greg Purvis and Kim Purvis.
