He was born in Mossbank to Elsie (Schick) & Richard “Dick” Meacher on March 10, 1949. They moved to Kingsway Park when he was a child. In his early 20’s he moved to BC and returned to Moose Jaw area a few years later. He was a member of the Wild Life Society and the Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village, of which his father was a founding member.
Gerald had a passion for hunting, fishing, running dog sleds and his hobby farm. He loved all of the little animals. Gerald was just a little bit stubborn as you may have noticed. He had a bit of a temper as well but under all of that was a huge heart of gold. He was there to lend a hand or shoulder to anyone in need - family, a friend, or a stranger who soon became a friend.
Gerald was predeceased by his father, Richard “Dick” Meacher in 2014; his maternal grandmother, Barbara in 2020; special uncle, Karl in 2014 & aunt Kathy in 2017 along with aunts, uncles & cousins too numerous to mention and whom all held a special place in his heart.
Gerald leaves to mourn his passing, the love of his life of 18 years, Gina Meacher; Gina’s son, Aaron (Desiree) & their children, Austin, Dakota and Dayton; son, Jason (Megan) & their children, Maehailey, Davin, Daylin & Madeline; his daughter, Chantel (Vince) & their family, Lex & Myka; Chantel’s mother, Lynn and her sisters, Tanya & Amanda; his mother, Elsie Meacher; brother, Charlie (Louise) Meacher; sisters, Marianne (Mark) Mann, Candace (Glen) Kendall, Rosemarie (Curtis) Moggey along with 12 nieces & nephews and 26 great nieces & nephews; his special uncle, Walter Schick along with many other aunts, uncles & cousins. He also formed a special bond with Warren Westman & his daughter, McKayla.
At the Request of Gerald there will be no formal service held at this time.
