Heather Jane Brokenshire

Heather was predeceased by her father, Sam Brokenshire; maternal grandparents, John & Mary (Kot) Vogel and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Agnes (Brownhill) Brokenshire.

Heather will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Jeanette Brokenshire of Weyburn, SK; sister, Roberta Brokenshire (Pete Kaufmann) of Weyburn, SK; sister, Mary (Thom) Irving of Winnipeg, MB and their children, Sean (Anita Tsai), Laurie (Mark Lowry) and Kelly & son, Royce as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her buddy, Boots.

Heather was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on November 3, 1971 to proud parents, Sam and Jeanette Brokenshire. She grew up on the Vogel farm south of Weyburn, and dearly loved all of the peaceful aspects of farm life, especially the animals. She always displayed a great love for animals, especially dogs, cats and horses, and they in turn loved her right back. She was a kind, gentle soul and they seemed to sense it better than anyone.

Heather was a huge music fan, and was most especially fond of Def Leppard and Bon Jovi. Attending rock concerts near and far was a great highlight of her life, as was listening to all kinds of music and playing her guitar on a daily basis.

Also a very talented artist, Heather was never without pens, pencils, markers and a sketch pad, documenting all aspects of her daily life. She could draw anything but especially loved to draw things with a rock & roll theme, as well as nature scenes and portraits of her favourite pets.

She was an excellent writer as well, with several novels and many short stories and journals to her credit. She always had a project of some kind in the works and her paper and ink consumption was legendary!

A Private Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan Father Francis Plaparampil officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

The family of Heather requests that those attending the service dress in casual attire, jeans, sneakers and if you have one, a t-shirt with a favourite rock band on it.
