Howard Cletus Schmidt

Howard was predeceased by his parents, Herman & Emma Schmidt; in laws, Frank & Mary Miller; wife, Lauretta Schmidt; sisters, Eva Comstock, Gladys Forsyth, Ella Harris, Mary Achen, Christina Schmidt & Florence Johnston; brothers, Leonard Schmidt, Floyd Schmidt & Edward Schmidt and twin great granddaughters, Daisey & Zoey Cunningham.

Howard is survived by his children: Don (Fay) Schmidt and family, Donna [Logan, Colton], Scott (Amanda), Mark (Jill) [Len, Nate]; Dianne (Jim) Brown and family, Dave (Tenille) [Liam, Eric], Colin (Bianca) [Baylyn]; Marlene (Kevan) Adderley and family, Alison (Cory) [Daxon], Nadine (Mark) [Alaina, Livia, Connor, Corbin, Cale, Charlee], Melanie [Beckett]; Dolores (Armin) Roettger and family, Kerri (Jim) [Dylan (Kaley), Phoenix (Tyson) [Ryker, Kaybree, Waylon], Kirkland (Hailey), Brayden (Brooklyn)], Elise (Mike) [Morgun], Atley (Jody) [Kyler, Raine], Hans [Kynlee], Ayla [Talen]; Dale (Josie) Schmidt and family, Dan (Marcia) [Andrew, Kate, Mason], Michael (Shannon) [Rochelle (Joey) [Jasper], Mia, Christopher]; Joanne (Phil) Babiarz and family, Jesse (Jess) [Paycen, Taisley], Erika (Owen) [Nika, Natalie, Nevaeh], and Kale; Val (Dean) Lund and family, Ashley (Travis) [Emerson], Robert (Karly), Colton (Mikki), Brooklyn (Sean) and Jasmine (Tyler); sister and brother in laws as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Prayers were said Friday, May 5, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan and the Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Father Valentine Amobi celebrating. Interment took place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Honour guard: The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #47 and Pallbearers were Scott Schmidt, Colin Brown, Hans Roettger, Michael Schmidt, Kale Babiarz and Robert Pickering. Lunch and Eulogy followed at the Wheatland Senior Centre, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

Howard’s family would like to thank the staff at Hill Top Manor, the members of the Weyburn Legion Honor Guard, as well as Tamara and her entire staff from Fletcher’s Funeral Chapel.
