It is with mixed feelings we share that Jerry John Urban, Fillmore, passed away on Tuesday October 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol of Fillmore, SK and children, Sandi (Iain), Darren (Wanda), Grant (Alex), Glen (Adrienne) and “adopted daughter”, Yee (David) grandchildren, April, Stuart, Sydney, Wade, Zachary, Evan and Jerry.
Jerry also leaves his sister, Joan, brothers, Ken (Sue) and Milo, sisters-in-law, Eileen and Dorothy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen; in-laws, Clifford and Mildred Good; brother, Tom and brother-in-law, Bill.
Jerry had many passions. Spring was spent preparing for the upcoming growing season; Summer meant the tractor radio was turned on for either the Jays or Riders games: Fall was harvest and hunting season; Winter meant Curling. Jerry was active in local politics including serving as RM Council and President of the Regina District Association of Rural Municipalities. Nothing was more important than his children and grandchildren – and was the proud proprietor of Dad’s fix it shop Open evenings and weekends; specializing in broken toys; hurt feelings; 2 wheeler lessons; math homework; skinned knees; lost pets; hunting lessons, and magic kisses. He accepted payment with hugs, kisses and smiles.
Join us in a celebration of his life Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Grace United Church, Fillmore, SK with Rev. Nick Judson officiating. Interment to follow in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, SK. Donations in Lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Jerry to the Fillmore Ambulance or to the Fillmore Cemetery Fund. Condolences may be left at www.fletcherfuneralchapels.com.
