

On Tuesday, February 9th, 2010, Peter John “Jack” Rollings passed away at New Hope Lodge in Stoughton, Saskatchewan at the age of 91 years. Jack leaves to mourn his chosen family, Lester and Trudy Gall, Betty (Ray) Gentes, Buster (Linda) Wright and their families. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Evelyn Rollings; his sisters, Inez Rollings and Doris Bradley, also Roy Wright and Tom Everingham. Jack is also survived by his sister, Kathryn Bellingham and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was born on a farm north of Stoughton on November 16th, 1918 to Andrew and Evelyn Rollings. Over the years he worked at many things. He road the Rails in the 30’s to Ontario to find work, later working in mines in the North as a Carpenter. He took up farming and ran a sheep farm north of Stoughton until he retired. He continued to do Carpenter work into his 70’s. His many Border Collie Dogs, especially ‘Tom’ were all trained as working dogs. Jack was actively involved with the annual ‘Dog Trials’ held by the Legion in Stoughton until the age of 81 years. He loved horses and enjoyed riding until age 81 also. He was musically inclined, playing his guitars and singing. As a youth he sang on the Yorkton Radio station. Jack was also an avid gardener and always grew a huge garden. He considered his ‘church’ to be the great outdoors and the beauty of nature. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by friends and family.
By personal choice, there will be no Service. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn, Saskatchewan. (306-842-5432)
