

Agnes F. Evans was born to Michael and Helen (Ilona) Lindvay on January 8, 1919 in Eden, Colorado, near Pueblo. The family lived on a farm at the time of Agnes’ birth, but moved to Pueblo when Agnes was young. She was the youngest of seven children and was the last surviving. She passed away on April 7, 2015.
Agnes married her next door neighbor, Woodrow W. Evans. They were married over 50 years when Woody passed away. She has two daughters; Catherine Shea and Sue Evans. Agnes was a homemaker and also worked in the kitchen at the schools. During World War II, she worked in the Day Care at the Boeing Factory in Renton, Washington, caring for children of fathers who were off at war and mothers who worked in the Factory making airplanes. Woody worked at Puget Sound Light and Gas at this time. When the war was over, they moved back to Colorado, but to Denver, where Woody got a job at the power company, Public Service Company of Colorado. Once Woody retired they joined the Englewood Elks and enjoyed making many new friends and participating in many activities, including volunteering to work on many projects and events.
Agnes was preceded in death by her father, Michael; and mother, Helen; husband, Woodrow W., and her siblings: John, Paul, Michael, Helen Smelich, Margaret Ausenbaugh, and Rose Lorimor. She is survived by her daughters; Catherine and Sue; son-in-law, Daniel N. Shea; and several nieces and nephews. On April 7, 2015, God welcomed a devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt into eternal life. Agnes was a very special lady for all of her 96 years. She was loved by all who had the privilege to know her.
Please join the family in celebrating her life at the visitation 2:00 PM Sunday, April 12th at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary. A rosary will be held at 3:00 PM following the visitation. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 13th at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church located at 2190 South Sheridan Blvd in Denver. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery following the Mass. A reception will follow the burial at approximately 12:45 PM at the Englewood Elks Lodge located at 3690 South Jason Street in Englewood.
