Angela was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 27, 1941 to Pasquale and Carmela Minervini. She was the last born of 5 children and was always the baby of the family. She lost her father when she was 12 years old and was raised by her newly widowed mother. She graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City in 1958, during that period she met her husband of 59 years Bill. They dated and were married on September 27, 1962. They lived in Jersey City and then in 1965 had their son William James. In 1967 Angela and Bill with little Bill in tow, moved into their first home in Matawan, New Jersey. They lived there for many years and then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado for the golden years of retirement.
Angela had her first real job working for Coca Cola in Jersey City and was on the switch board the day President Kennedy was assassinated. She said that the switchboard lit up like Christmas tree, and she was overwhelmed trying to handle all the calls. She hated the job and quit shortly after that. Angela loved to cook and feed her family and friends, so the transition to food service jobs was a natural progression. She worked as a baker at ARA Cafeteria which served about 2000 people per day and was inside the Bell Laboratories Research Facility in Holmdel, NJ. After that she worked for the Matawan Regional School District cooking and baking for the High School and the other 8 schools within the district. Still working for the district she became a teachers aid watching over the children during lunch and recess. Angela retired after 25 years of service.
After retirement Angela and Bill discovered cruising and they made multiple trips to Alaska and Hawaii. They also cruised the Panama Canal, New England, and Canada. They loved to host holidays and also visit friends and family, she loved all the new babies that were coming into the family and would light up whenever they were around.
Angela was a kind, strong woman who loved with her whole heart. If she loved you, she would feed you until you felt like you would burst, send you home with leftovers and give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She was a financial wizard and could stretch and squeeze a dollar to get the most out of it. She enjoyed ceramics, music and watching scary movies.
She is survived by her son Bill Roberts (Stacey), adopted son Marc Slover, granddaughter Laurae Roberts-Uhlig (Justin), great granddaughter Victoria, niece Diane O'keeffe, niece Susan Molina (Oscar), nephew Steven Palumbo (Wendy) great nephew Adam, great niece Amanda, great niece Catherine Gaudreault (Jason), great nephew Kevin O'Keeffe (Emily), great niece Diana (Tim) and great great nieces and nephews James, Lucy, Camilla, Hayden, Easton, and Rhett.
