

Anita Margaret Hiatt Wagner, 95, passed away at her home in Lakewood, Colorado on Friday, September 19, 2014. Anita was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to William and Ida Mabel Haitt in 1919. The family later moved to Boulder, Colorado; where Anita attended high school and the University of Colorado. In September of 1940, she married C. Philip Wagner, a geologist. In 1954 they moved their family to Lakewood, Colorado.
Anita enjoyed supporting the Bethlehem Lutheran School and Lutheran High School; where her six children attended school. For the last 60 years she has been an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, participating in Bible studies and assisting in the office. Her family will always remember her beautiful piano playing. As a young woman she found a creative outlet in photography and learned to develop her own pictures. Anita’s favorite subjects were her family and close-ups of Colorado wild flowers.
Anita, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is survived by her sister, Ruth Holt of Houston, TX; her six children: Cynthia Rasmussen of Port Ludlow, WA; Madelyn Lesser of Phoenix, AZ; Joan Gehman of Escondido, CA; Valerie Erickson of Vero Beach, FL; Philip Wagner of Littleton, CO; and Adrienne Wagner of Thornton, CO; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Anita is preceded in death by her ex-husband, C. Philip Wagner and her brothers, William and Ted Hiatt.
The visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, 5-7pm at Oligner Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Denver, CO 80033. The memorial service and reception will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, 10am at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80124.
