

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Anna Lovelia Burris, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, godmother and friend who left us peacefully on Sept 22, 2025. She was 92 years old. Anna Lee was renowned for her kindness, grace, wisdom and unwavering spirit. She lived a life of deep faith and loved her family dearly.
Anna Lovelia, known to those who loved her as “Lee” was born January 2, 1933 to Gustav and Anna Bebensee, in Wilcox, Nebraska. Having been born into a family of faith, Lee was baptized shortly thereafter. She was the youngest of 6 children and spent her younger years on the family farm. She later moved with her family to Hildreth and graduated from Hildreth High School in 1950. In the mid 1950’s she began her long career with the Telephone company that stretched from Louisiana to Colorado. After retirement, she became very active in her community, engaging in her sisters’ endeavors and volunteering at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wheat Ridge Colorado. She had a love and a gift for music that will forever remain in our hearts.
She was a loving wife to Douglas Curtice, Leon Mitchell, George Bogey and Norman Burris. A cherished mother to her two sons Ron Curtice (Debra), Brent Curtice (Lisa), and stepchildren, Paula Blume (Harold), Laura Cote (Greg), Brian Burris (MaryAnn), Nancy Withers (Matthew), Jeff Bogey and Barbara Bogey.
Lee was a proud grandmother to Justin Curtice, Amanda Curtice, Chris Curtice, Paul Cote, Stephanie Cote, Kyle Burris, Ciciley Dodd, and Grant Withers. She was blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Hardin Curtice, Juliette Curtice, Angelo Curtice, Jaxson Curtice, Christian Curtice, Tate Burris, Emmeline Burris, Arabelle Burris, Elaine Dodd, Jolene Withers.
She was a loving and caring aunt to multiple nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
She is predeceased by her husbands, her parents, her siblings, two step children, three nieces, a grandson and a great-great nephew.
Lee’s legacy of Love, kindness and resilience will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held (Thursday) November 6th, 2025, from 12 – 2PM at Olinger Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge Colorado. Funeral services will be Held at Holy Cross Lutheran church on Friday November 7th, 2025, 11:30 am followed by a celebration gathering.
