

Longtime Eastlake resident, Annie Stockdill died January 11, 2016 after a brief illness. One of eleven children, Annie was born to German immigrants John and Augusta Schutt on March 29, 1918 on the family homestead in Eastlake, CO. Annie and Jay lived various places during their marriage including Northern California and Western Colorado. At one time Jay and Annie owned a dude ranch near Rabbit Ears Pass. Together they enjoyed managing the ranch and making the experience special for their guests. One of Annie's ranch stories includes reminiscences about special guest Ethel Merman. Annie and Jay worked and lived in Grand Junction, Colorado as well. Annie was preceded in death by husband, Jay Stockdill, her parents, John and Augusta, and sisters Mary, Emma, Bertha, Louise, Frances, Helen, Margaret, Dorothy, and brothers John and William, and a niece Freeda Ratliff, of Tucson, AZ and a nephew James White of Brighton, CO and Chuck Hance of Aurora, CO. Survivors include nieces Marilyn Swanson of Thornton, CO, Linda (Reid) Fudge of Littleton, CO, Vickie Swanson of Reno, NV, and nephews Gerald (Nancy) Swanson of Pueblo, CO, Harvey (Sandy) Swanson of Columbia Falls, MT, Michael (Cathy) Swanson of Fort Lupton, CO. Additional survivors include Tom Ratliff of Tucson, AZ and Barbara White of Brighton, CO along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 18th, 2016 at 11am at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
