Betty Lou Barwinski (Shaffer) of Denver, Colorado has made her final trip to the arms of Jesus Christ on March 30, 2020 at 88 years young. Husband of 55 years, Edward (Ed) Barwinski, started the trip in 2010. Betty is the oldest of five children (Anna, Charlotte, Carl, and Larry) that moved from Pennsylvania to Aurora, Colorado in 1949. Anna and Charlotte have proceeded her. She has six (6) children, Dan (Sara), Dave (Hazel), Tim (Laura), Timon (went to heaven during pregnancy), Tom (Lorie), and Linda (Rick). She has eleven (11) grandchildren and thirteen (13) great-grandchildren. Betty was born with many gifts from God that she used to love on everyone she touched. Her conversion from religion to a relationship with Jesus Christ expanded her horizon to show the love of God to even more people. She did volunteer work for and financially supported several Christian ministries. She often entertained people in her house, visited friends and families throughout the country, and shared her big generous heart with all. It was her physical heart that finally failed her while being in hospice care at Tom and Lorie’s home. Since there are no gatherings allowed at this time, her earthly tent will be cremated and interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Ed on April 7, 2020, the celebration of her life will be on August 18, 2020 (her birthday) at Waterstone Community Church, service at 10:30 am and lunch at noon (assuming gatherings are allowed).
