Betty June Walker

Betty June Walker, age 96 passed away in Lakewood, CO on Friday, February 17, 2023. She is survived by her daughters Becky Fowler, Roberta Walker and Lisa Pastore; her son-in-laws Dave Fowler and Paul Pastore; her grandchildren Leslie Eberhart, Connor Pastore, Tanner Pastore and Nick Pastore; her great-grandchildren Natalie Eberhart and Tristan Eberhart. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ward Walker.

Betty was born in Denver, CO on June 7, 1926 to Fred and Inez Shevick. At age 3 her family moved to Sheridan, WY. Betty then returned to Denver in 1944 to attend a 3 year Cadet Nursing Program at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO. After graduating she was employed at St. Joseph Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital in the pediatric department.

Betty met her husband Ward at a Folk and Square Dancing event held at Steele Center in Denver, CO. They were married on December 3, 1950 and later started their family of 3 daughters.

Everyone that met Betty loved her for her sweet personality, kindness and willingness to help out. She was a very giving person and was involved as a Girl Scout leader, church school teacher, helped with hydrotherapy for people with multiple sclerosis and even in her 80’s taught senior exercise classes.

She loved her grandchildren and was very active in their lives. She enjoyed playing games, making puzzles and just spending time with them.

She enjoyed hiking in the mountains, art and music. She made sure her children had the opportunity to have the gift of music in their lives.

We will miss you dearly and are very proud that we had such a special mother.
