Bonnie Jewel Bishop

Bonnie was born on January 27, 1935, to John and Ida Harrell in Max Meadows, Wythe County, Virginia.

In 1951, Bonnie met David at her home in Virginia and married in 1954. David and Bonnie went on to have six children, David, Christopher, Deborah, Mary, Kenneth, and Tammy.

Bonnie’s career was nursing; she worked as a CNA at a hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and at a nursing home in Lakewood, Colorado. Upon Bonnie’s retirement she spent her time with grandchildren, canning, Beanie Babies collecting, traveling and spending time with family.

Bonnie was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, David Bishop; father, John Wesley Harrell, Sr.; mother, Mary Ida (Ingo) Harrell; brothers, Bobby Fisher; John (JW) Harrell Jr.; Steve Harrell; Vance Harrell; Carlyle Harrell; sisters, Loretta Wurtz; Dell McMillan; Ina Dishon; Freda Arnold; Wanda Sisk; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Bishop. She is survived by her children, David (Karen) Bishop; Christopher Bishop (Deanna Gaffney); Deborah (Ray) Lokatos; Mary (Bob) Ermer; Kenneth (Hope) Bishop; and Tammy (Alan) Hoeffner. Grandchildren, Allison (John) Carter; CJ Bishop; Michelle (Joe) Jimenez; Brian (Jessica) Lokatos; Robbie Ermer; Satori (Braxton) Williams; AJ (Logan) Hoeffner; and Megan Ermer. Great-Grandchildren, Nadia, Morgen, Logan, James, Thomas, Landon, Oliver, and Hallie. Sister-in-law, Janice (Al) Kohlbeck. Brothers-in-law, William Dishon and Edward Sisk.

Services will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 am MST. Services to be held in Serenity Point with a reception to follow the graveside service.
