God has blessed me and others by letting us have the privilege of a special friendship with Sis. Brenda. She was truly an ambassador for Christ, always thinking of others before herself, always testifying of God's goodness and faithfulness. She was truly an inspiration and a blessing to all who knew her. I shall never forget her beautiful voice singing, with all her heart, the wonderful songs of praise to God. To Bro. John and her family and to the church in Brigton, my heart goes out to you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort and keep you in His love.

I am saddened at all of our loss. Memories of forty-seven years will never be forgotten. Your voice, that was dedicated to sing praises to your Lord and Savior. Wow! what a voice- we shared years of glorious worship together. You were like a sister to me, plus my two nephews. I often had the pleasure of taking the boys for a haircut, quite an experience! I really enjoyed taking taking the boys shopping and places of fun.Your dinner table - always inviting- how delicious! My mom and dad (when he was so ill) "loved" their trip to Denver to visit you and Bro. John. The hospitality, love, and friendship was refreshing, also renewing with old friends. We were treated royally! I will miss you, until I see you again-

Words cannot express how much my Grandmother, (or "Gammy" as we always called her) meant to me. She taught me so much in 25 years, my love for cooking and for music I owe to her. Her example of love for the Lord and His people will be a shining example to me for the rest of my life. Her kindness and warmth to all she met is felt when she is thought of. She has been a living testimony for Jesus Christ and I am so blessed to have called her my Gammy, my children may not remember her as they get older, but they will grow up hearing just how wonderful she was. 

My heart will forever miss her in this life but I know I will see her again someday and for that, I do rejoice!

Sis. Brenda's warmth was in all her ways. It was there when she was cooking the best chicken fettuccini Alfredo and baking pistachio cake, or testifying about God's goodness in her life, or singing the lovely song Submission, and especially when she would speak to us individually, asking How are you doing, Darling? Just keep trusting the Lord, and He will keep you. She made us feel a part of her family. Most of all, her constant recognition of God's goodness and keeping power has become a strong message wrapped in tenderness to our lives. We will miss you so much, Sis. Brenda. Our love and prayers to Bro. Jon and the family.

I would like to give honor to my Sister, Brenda because honor is truly due her.  She has always been an inspiration to me.  When visiting, she could never do enough to show her hospitality through sightseeing trips all over Colorado, her great Chicken Alfredo and the times she would sit at the piano and sing like no other while we were just sitting in the living room. Sister Brenda will be sorely missed not only by me, but all who knew her.  God bless, comfort and keep you, Bro. John, Brent, Brock and your sweet families. My prayers are with you.  I love you all.

A friend of Jesus has left this earth, to dwell forever in his presence.She truly sang, Oh what bliss, Jesus is a friend of mine. They were not just in the words she sang, they were in her life. Her love of Christ became a lifestyle that blessed everyone that ever knew her. I am so thankful that this child of the King was also a friend of mine. How blessed I've been through the years to have her for a friend. She had a passion for God and compassion for people. Her faith and her prayers allowed her to deal victoriously with the health problems, especially of this last year of her life. She embraced the word of God and as Paul said, when the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."  
To the Kanon family and friends, I send my heartfelt sympathy and ask you to cherish the memories and rejoice that for Sis Brenda, life's short race is over, she is home at last. Love and prayers for all of you who loved her.

Sister Brenda will be truly missed by all who knew her as her life was a "living epistle known and read by all" of the great grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior. While we on earth will miss a companion, mom, grandmother, friend and sister in Christ, heaven has gained a precious angel who will be lifting her beautiful voice in praise to God with the choir around the Throne of God. Having known Sister Brenda for most of my life I can say that her life was always a testimony of God's love and grace. She had a way of always making you feel loved, cared for, special, and would lift your heart with her care and understanding. She will be greatly missed.
Brother John, Brent, Brock, and your families you are being held in prayer before our Heavenly Father in this time and we know that the Peace of Christ is being imparted to you and the church family in Brighton.

I will miss the lifelong friendship.  On this earth, we shared the fellowship of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.  In heaven, we will worship Him.  I am praying for the Kanon family.

I have so many beautiful and wonderful memories of Sis. Brenda. I always had a great time visiting with her, Bro. Jon and the family in Colorado. Sis. Brenda was a wonderful chef- we loved it when she cooked for us! I don't know how she made it with a bunch of screaming teenagers up the mountain of Pike's Peak, but she did and then treated us to hot cider and doughnuts (fun times) together! We always so enjoyed the times Sis. Brenda and Bro. Jonathan would visit us in Florida, Sis. Brenda sang like an Angel and Bro. Jonathan always inspired us with God's Holy Word! You are more than friends to me, the time you took to come to Iowa to be there for Tim and then almost two years ago, coming to Florida to give your love as Tim went on to be with our Lord. I will be forever grateful! Whenever I hear the song, "His Eye is on the Sparrow", I will always hear Sis. Brenda singing it- so beautiful! My heart, love and prayers are with you Bro. Jonathan, Brock & family, Brent and family.

We will miss our Dear Beloved Friend! I cherish the memories and will hold them dear to my heart. truly, you so lived Christ! Love and prayers to all the family.

Our hearts go out to the family at this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We know the God of all comfort is sustaining you. Sis. Brenda will always have a very special place in our hearts. I first met her when, as she would say, I was just a "little shaver". My family lived next door to them in Tampa, Fl. I was invited over for one of the boy's birthdays. She had a God given gift for culinary delights and this was my first experience with that. Her cooking was really a ministry of love. I remember her saying once that it wouldn't matter if you had all the love in the world for someone if you didn't get that love over to them. She knew how to express the love of God to those around her in so many wonderful ways. She also had a gift for music and a beautiful soprano voice. My heart was always touched as she sang the song  Submission. We really loved to hear her sing because it came from her heart of love for the Master. She lived the lyrics that she sang. You weren't around her for very long before the conversation turned to our Lord Jesus Christ. Her walk with the Lord and devotion to Him made such an impact on our lives as young people and has continued through the years.  She has been such a Christ-like example and a wonderful blessing in our lives. She will be greatly missed but we will forever cherish the wonderful memories of time spent together both in Florida and Colorado. We are looking forward to seeing her again in the presence of our Lord and Saviour.

Uncle Jonathan and Family: I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Brenda's passing. She was such a jewel, a bright spot in the lives of those who knew her. There was nothing like her homemade biscuits - prepared by hand with love being the main ingredient.  Sending my love to you all and praying the Lord will comfort each heart during this difficult time.

Sis. Brenda will be greatly missed. We had many times of good fellowship and good food. She was a real blessing in our lives. We love the Kanon family.

Sis.Brenda was a loyal friend; a great example of a Christian lady. We always enjoyed being in their home. We had many laughs and talks about our Lord. She was a wonderful servant to God's people; such a good cook!  We continued our contact by phone when they moved to Denver and made many trips there. My favorite visit was when the Iglers were there and the Kanon boys pushed Bro. Igler down the hill in so much snow; such fun! So many memories we can't name them all here. To see Sis. Brenda now, we look through the eyes of eternity.  A beautiful rose now graces Heaven's garden.  The Lord saw His precious daughter getting tired and whispered, Come with me.  A golden heart stopped beating, a beautiful smile at rest.  Our hearts continue to weep for her but God has proven He only takes His very best.  She now beholds our Father's face and touches our Savior's hand.  The angel's rejoiced as she walked through the gates of pearl.  She is walking on golden streets and touching the jasper walls.  She is dipping her feet in the crystal sea as she walks to her mansion God prepared for her as a sanctuary where only the most high dwell.  On the walls are pictures of so many that have been lead to Calvary by the life she has lived.  From a five year old child, I watched her live a life devoted to Christ.  She has been such an important part of my life.  The trips, the meals, the fun that we have shared will never be forgotten.  I still have my real women don't need guardrails tee shirt she presented me with after I drove everyone to the top of Pikes Peak! She always had time for me.  She has left such a legacy of love.  I am so blessed to have been part of that legacy.  I cherish most the times I have been granted to be with her for the last year, which has been many.  I love and will miss my dear friend, but I know I will see her again!

What a blessing to have known this beautiful lady.  My heart and prayers are with her friends and family.

Oh so sad to lose such a precious soul.  Our heartfelt condolences to Bro. Kanon, their sons and daughters-in-law, their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
