I knew Luke for many years and always found him to be an engaging energetic person with a great sense of humor and much wisdom. I miss him.

I just today learned of Byron's passing and was both saddened and shocked.  I worked with him off and on beginning in the late 70s into the early 90s through his affiliation with Broker's International.  He was the most charismatic man I ever knew, a superb salesman yet kind, gentle and empathetic.  I will miss him and the countless breakfasts we shared at Denny's where he unselfishly shared knowledge,wisdom and humor.  My deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.  He will be missed.

I just learned of Byron's recent passing and I am deeply saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Lucas family as the result of his passing. MY deepest sympathies go out to your family and loved ones. Byron, was a very important person in the lives of many people. Both to his family and many outside of his family. I called him "Coach" because he took extra time with me to mentor me.  His sweet wife Karen and He gave me and Shelley so much in the area of wisdom on how to manage money and time. But most of all I will remember the times he would just talk "truth" about life to all of us in our meetings -- simple things that are not taught anymore, truth, honesty, loyalty, and keeping your word. Things every young man should hear from a leader and mentor. I have deeply missed your fellowship. My Prayers and thoughts are with you all. May the God of All Comfort surround you with His arms.

I worked with Byron, his sisters and children from 1988 to 2002.  He made coming to work fun.  He would sit in my office and just talk about family (his and mine), work, etc.  He was a great boss who cared deeply for his employees. I was also a student in a history class at West High Shool (Mr. Gilgore)  when he was doing his student teaching.   He will be greatly missed!

I would like to express my condolence to the family.  I was lucky enough to have Mr. Lucas as a history teacher in junior high then work with him in insurance for many years at a later date.  He was excellent in both situations.  I learned much from him.

Byron and I enjoyed discussing automobiles on infrequent occasion. . . He was always gracious and engaging in conversation; and Hospitable when Ronda and I had occasion to visit him and Karen in their home. . .
