

Carol Britton Kolesnikoff was born on August 13, 1948 and passed away at Longmont Hospital Hospice Care on June 10, 2023. She was with her partner, Alan Hovland, as she courageously battled cancer for her last 3 months. Throughout her illness she maintained a positive attitude and was able to spend time with her closest friends, partner, and sister.
A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Carol was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School, Leesport, Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with a degree in Anthropology. Professionally, she worked for many years as a financial advisor.
She loved ballroom dancing competitions, flower arranging, travel, and sailing with the Salty Dog Sailing Club. She was the Executive Officer of America’s Boating Club, Colorado and Editor of The Beacon.
Carol was an avid reader, an analytical thinker, a loving sister, aunt, partner, and friend and had an unparalleled zest for life. She is missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her partner, Alan Hovland and her sister, Ellen Kennedy. Additionally, she is survived by her nieces Katy Kennedy, Tracey Kennedy, and Karen Kennedy Carr and nephews Matthew Britton and Taylor Britton as well as her Rothermel and Huyett cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents John Albert Britton and Virginia Huyett Britton and her brother, John Albert Britton, Jr.
A Celebration of Life at Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, Colorado will be announced.
