Charles H. Lewis passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020. He was born in Denver, Colorado in 1925. He attended North High School in Denver and became a machinist through an apprenticeship at the railroad.
For many years, he worked at the Burlington Railroad and the DOE Rocky Flats plant as a machinist and tool and die maker. The Colorado mountains provided his greatest enjoyment with his wife, Shirlee (deceased), family and friends. Many joyful excursions were made 4-wheeling, hiking, camping and exploring the mines and ghost towns of Colorado since the 1950's. He was known to proclaim, "this is God's country," atop many a Colorado mountain.
Charles is survived by his son Gary and wife Mary Ann. He had one grandchild Heidi and spouse Matt Anderson, and one great granddaughter, Lily Anderson, age 3 1/2.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020, 1 pm, at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, 80033
