A Denver native, Dave was born to Alvin G. Stutsman and Mary R. Novak. He was a dedicated family man who married his beloved wife, Jeannie, in 1962. Together, they had two children and multiple grandchildren. Dave built a rewarding career with Allstate Insurance, where his exceptional dedication made him a top-performing agent for many years.
Dave was a vibrant pillar of the Wheat Ridge community; he was appointed the Wheat Ridge Planning Commissioner in 1979, the Wheat Ridge City/Chamber of Commerce Coordinating Committee in 1981, and Representative to the Denver Regional Council of Governments. He was a member of the American Planning Association, the Wheat Ridge Chamber of Commerce, and the Wheat Ridge Festival Committee. Dave served as Chair of the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival in 1985 and as its Grand Marshal in 1992. Beyond these leadership roles, he frequently directed the festival's entertainment. Dave was also a Softball coach with the Wheat Ridge Girls Softball Association and was on the Board of Directors for the Breckenridge Condominium Association.
After joining the Wheat Ridge Jaycees in 1969, Dave distinguished himself through years of dedicated service and by serving in multiple chairmanships. In honor of his exceptional leadership and profound impact on the local community, his peers nominated him to become a Jaycee Senator. This title is the highest individual honor within the Jaycee organization, celebrating a lifetime of outstanding dedication and impactful service to the Jaycee movement.
Dave had a wide range of passions. He loved scuba diving, wildlife, music, photography, garden railroading, fishing, and traveling, exploring new destinations. He was also a dedicated softball coach and a lifelong Denver Broncos fan.
