Debra Jean Berger (Debbi) was born Tuesday, January 25, 1944 in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in North Denver and graduated from North High School.
Debbi loved to read, learn, travel, spend time with family and friends, and arts and crafts. She was an active member of Shepherd Of The Hills Presbyterian Church.
Debbi worked at the Federal Center in the BLM division for her entire career. She met and married Hugh Berger, bought a house in Lakewood and adopted her twins, Audra and Stephen. After Hugh's untimely death, she met Ken Rye who would go on to become her life partner. Debbi gained three additional sons, Greg, Scott, and Kurt in this union.
Debbi was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Curnow; her older brother, Jack Curnow; her husband, Hugh Berger; her life partner, Ken Rye; her additional sons Scott, and Greg Rye.
Debbi passed peacefully at her home in Lakewood on Monday October 2, 2023 after succumbing to her Agitation Dementia, Macular Degeneration, and reoccurring cancer.
Debbi is survived by her twins, Audra Berger and Stephen Berger;, Kurt Rye; and grandson, Luke Rye.
