Debra Elaine Velasquez

Debra Elaine Velasquez was born in Denver, Colorado on February 15, 1960, and passed away on November 29, 2025, at Denver Health Medical Center at the age of 65. She will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, and unwavering support to those in need. Debra's kindness touched many lives; she was known for her selfless nature and willingness to help others.

At age 25, Debra pursued nursing school and subsequently built a dedicated career as a nurse at Villa Manor Care Center, where she served for 35 years. Beyond her professional achievements, Debra was also a cherished mother, sister, wife, and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Michael Tucson Jr.; her sister, Michelle Morales; her ex-husband, Michael Tucson; and her grandchildren: Michael Tucson III, Christine Gomez, Matthew Tucson, Elias Salazar, Leandra Tucson, and Adreena Tucson. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, John Velasquez; her father, Lee Mares; her mother, Elaine Mares; her sons, Isaac Tucson and Gabriel Tucson; and her grandson, Johnathan Tucson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10:00 am at Relentless Church, 1720 South Alcott St., Denver, CO 80219. A reception will immediately follow at Lakeview Event Center, 7864 W. Jewell Ave., Lakewood, CO 80232.
