Dennis Drake, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family. He lived a life marked by courage, dedication, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations.
Dennis first made his mark as a sports champion at Jefferson High School, where his determination and leadership were evident on and off the field. His strength of character carried him into service with the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Sergeant and paratrooper. His time in the military instilled in him discipline, resilience, and a deep devotion to his country—values that guided him throughout his life.
Following his service, Dennis built a successful career as the founder and owner of Drake Contractors, Inc., where he became known not only for his business acumen but also for his fairness, integrity, and loyalty to his employees and clients. He was a man who believed in hard work and in building something lasting.
Above all, Dennis was a family man. He was the loving husband of the late Ann, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Together, they created a family that was his greatest pride. Dennis is survived by his children Lisa (Vernon), Matthew (Noelle), and Nathan (Tricia). He was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Briana (Kyle), Gryffin, Nicholas, Amy, Landen (Maggie), and Kendall, and a cherished great-grandfather to Finley, Harper and Ledger. Dennis also leaves his lifelong brother Ronald and his nephews Adam and Luke to cherish his memory.
Those who knew Dennis remember him as someone you could always count on—whether as a steadfast friend, a guiding father, or the quiet strength behind every success and challenge. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and determination will live on in all whose lives he touched.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 1st, at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, CO. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project
