Donald Arthur Dresch

Donald A. Dresch, passed away on February 23, 2025. He was born in Springfield, IL on December 10th, 1934. His parents Frank and Loretta, nee Bea and sister Norma Jean preceded him in death. He is survived by brothers; George and Edward and sisters; Mary Nicholas and Carol Huffman.

Don graduated from the SS Peter and Paul Elementary school, Cathedral Boy's High School, Springfield Jr. College and the University of Illinois in Urbana.

He married Marlene Churchill in the St. James Church in Riverton on August 30th, 1958. They have five children, daughters; Terri (Jim) Bailey, Karen (Russ) Townsend, Marla (Jim) Butler, Donna (Laszlo) Cselovszky, son Kurt (Lesley Ann), 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He joined the US Navy in January of 1954 and attended an electronics school in Treasure Island, CA, then served 2 years on the submarine USS Bergall (SS320) as a Radar and Sonar operator and technician before his honorable discharge on January 21, 1957

Don was employed by the Sangamo Electric Company in Springfield as an electrical engineer and project manager in 1961. he and Marlene returned to the U of I Urbana campus with their family and he took an MSEE degree in 1970. In 1972, he joined the Hewlett Packard Company in Mountain View, CA retiring in 1998.

He will be laid to rest at the Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, located in Wheat Ridge, CO.
