Donna was born to the late Edward and Serena Baird on May 21, 1934, in Colby, Kansas. She attended high school in Colby, and met her late husband, Wayne, at the Colby skating rink. They married in July 1950. They lived in Colby until 1958 when they decided to move to Colorado. They lived in Commerce City when their children were young, and eventually built a home in Evergreen. In 1980 they sold their home in Evergreen and moved to Arvada.
She was a homemaker when her kids were young, and in 1962 received her GED and began doing office work with various companies. Following heart surgery she retired from United Food Service as an insides sales representative in 1980.
Donna loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, and going to the casinos. She had some memorable vacations with Wayne before his passing in July 1994.
Donna is survived by her two children, Sherri Dietz of Arvada, and Steve (Beverly) Buckstead of Thornton; two grandsons, Jason (Kimberly) Dietz and Joshua (Nicole) Dietz; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her siblings: Dorothy Grizzle, Jerry Baird, Evelyn Morse, Francis Baird and a son David Wayne Buckstead.
Memorial services will be held when we can all get together again.
