

Doris Levene Sale, “Mom”, 83 of Arvada, CO, “born a female, an American and a Democrat,” on July 13, 1929 in Denver, CO, passed away on January 12, 2013 in Lafayette, CO. Married on December 13, 1945 to and preceded in death by, William A. “Bill” Sale, Sr., together they had 3 children, Linda, William “Bill” Jr., and Sharon; they were happily married for almost 48 years before Bill’s death.
A Colorado native, Doris attended Grant Jr. High School and South High School in south Denver. Doris loved many things about life, including life itself. She was a good friend, honest, fair, loyal to her family and friends, and she loved to laugh and have a good time. Doris had a deep love for her country and the men and women who served. She was a proud 51 year member of American Legion Auxiliary Post # 161 and served as Post, District, and Department President; serving her community, attending conventions and dedicated to the well-being of all Veterans. Bill Sr. and Doris even mortgaged their house to have the “new-old” Legion (also post #161) built on 53rd and Old Wadsworth, it was a labor of love and worth every penny. Doris was also a member of the VFW and Eagles. Her other interests were: gardening, fishing, flowers, dancing, poker, shuffleboard, animals, and she had a fondness for John Wayne and old Western books and movies.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel Marie Campbell, her husband, Bill Sale Sr., and her brother Jim Campbell. Survived and missed tremendously by her 3 children; Linda Egelhoff, Bill Sale Jr.(Peg), and Sharon Stone (George), her brother Chuck Campbell, 8 grandchildren; Ronnie Wayne, Dusty, Shannon, Curt, Heather, Sheila, Sarah, and Matt, and 4 great-grandchildren; Jayden, Chantel, Gabriel, and Izzy.

Funeral Services at Crown Hill, Friday, January 25, at 12:00pm (noon)
Interment at Ft. Logan, Friday, Janary 25, at 2:15pm
