

Dr. Patrick R. Crawford, DPM, 67, of Amarillo died Monday, April 4, 2016. He was born in Denver to Ross and Janet Crawford on June 30, 1948. Pat entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 4, 2016, to join his beloved family. His early childhood and teenage years were spent in Jefferson County, graduating from Lakewood High School in 1966. The following Fall, he enrolled at the University of Colorado-Boulder, earning a degree in Economics in 1972. Military service followed achieving the rank of Captain in the Marine Corps. Being an active recreational athlete, Pat suffered an injury which required podiatry treatment. This interest developed into a career, which led him to achieve a Doctor of Podiatry medical degree from California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1983. Settling into a practice in Amarillo in 1985, he achieved a certificate as a board certified surgeon in 1994, enjoying a dedicated service to the people in the Panhandle of Texas. His interests included recreational activities. They were skiing, running and personal fitness. He had a personal fondness for animals especially his yellow labradors, Sophie and Leah. A world traveler, he met his beloved wife Luz Angela in Cali, Colombia, and entered into marriage on Aug. 23, 1998. Survivors include his wife, Luz Angela; brothers, Michael (Sheila), Peter, his nephews, David and James; and numerous cousins including a personal favorite, Bonnie Timarac.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Cathedral Episcopal Church - St. Martin's Chapel, 1350 Washington St. in Denver. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be offered to The Nature Conservancy, Society for Prevention to the Cruelty to Animals or World Wildlife Fund.
