Our widowers group miss Ed's "crotchety old man" act, and his wry humor. He was a lively addition to our group. When he was no longer answering his door or phone, we had no family information to check up on him. We do hope that he - and his family - know that he was not forgotten by us then --- or now.

Ed and I always had a good time when I went to his house and we tried to stay out of trouble while honky tonky around town. He always had a great sense of humor as I did so we got along good.

Ed will always remain a part of some of our best memories: family times spent celebrating the good things in life.. He was always generous to a fault, had a wicked sense of humor, and was a loyal husband, father, and friend. We will miss him! May the angels welcome him to Paradise!

Ed was a member of Widowed Men and Women of America. He enjoyed attending meetings and events. He was proud to tell us that he was from Cooperstown, NY the home of the baseball hall of fame.

Mike, Kelly, John and family: We are sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He was a good man. I will always cherish the time spent with your parents, especially Thanksgivings, Christmas Eves and CU football games.

Beautiful memories of both Ed and Janet! They went out of their way to show Rod and I a GREAT time when we came to visit! I never laughed so HARD when Ed got down with Andy when he was just 2 and the dog, Buffy and pretended to bark at the dog! Buffy joined in in the "singing!" It was hilarious! I remember that Ed, Janet, Rod and I all had tears rolling down our faces! It was an unforgettable moment! He saw to it that every little detail was checked off when we came to Denver and skied in the Rocky Mountains! Ed and Rod were both good skiers. Me, I was real good at crashing into trees, people and other obstacles. Ed also know of the BEST restaurants in town! He was smart, witty and LOVED to kid me about being a Southerner and Southern stereotypes. He was usually right on the mark! He knew that when the news reporter interviewed a Southerner, they would always have missing teeth, would be wearing a "wife-beater undershirt" would spit on the ground while on camera, and either had a wad of chewing tabbaco juices running out the side of their mouths, or the much more sophisticated, classy Southerners would have a chewed up toothpick hanging out of their teeth. And of course, they would talk using "ain'ts" , use double negatives and other various grammar no-no's. And they always had a cap on, a comb-over and would scratch or "adjust" their private parts on TV. And that was in the first 5 seconds! Ed would howl! And then turn to me and would say something like "Is that one of your relatives?" "Oh, I forgot, You all marry your cousins, right? " I couldn't help but laugh because he had Southerners pegged! Then he would say "you being from Greenville, SC, you all don't act that way. And your grandfather got his engineering degree from Clemson. I thought you could only major in farming or truck driving." Janet would be laughing but she would turn and playfully scold him. "Oh, Ed!" But she was laughing too. He will be missed!
