Eleanor (Schlechten) Macdonald

Beloved mother of Mark (Judy), Brian (Gretchen), Jean (Michael) Delaney and Carol (Charles) Roesle;

Grandmother of Nancy and Alan Schlechten, Matt Roesle and AJ and Madison Schlechten; Great-grandmother of Annibelle Schlechten;

She was preceded in death by husbands, A.W. Schlechten and Robert Macdonald.

Eleanor was born in Anaconda, Montana. She graduated from Wellesley College in Boston with a further degree in music from Converse College. Since moving to Golden she was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Eleanor loved music, both playing and listening. She was a member of the Jefferson Symphony and the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra. She also played with string quartets for many years and played the church organ at both Calvary in Golden as well as the church in Missouri where she lived for 20 years. She was a member of the P.E.O. chapter ER, Golden Fortnightly Club and other groups.

Eleanor was a kind and generous woman, who enjoyed life and all of it's variety. She was a warm hostess, a good friend and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched the lives of many who will certainly remember her with great affection.
