Alan Grube here, of Vancouver, Washington State.  Ella was married to my grandfather, Henry Lebsack (Pop).  Although I was born in Denver, my family moved out of state when I was three years old.  There are many fond memories of visits to Colorado and Lebsack family reunions at Pop and Ella's house on Sloan Lake.  They always provided the hospitality for both sides of my family to get together, and a chance for me to spend time with my Lebasck uncles (my mother Bertha's brothers), associated aunts and cousins, as well as great aunts and uncles, second cousins, etc.  Quite a cast of characters and fertile ground for Ella's legendary wit and teasing, which was always telegraphed by that twinkle in her eye.  Ella loved to fish and one summer as a young teenager I spent two weeks at Pop and Ella's house.  They took me night fishing at a lake north of Denver.  Ella was so happy to be going, I could hear her singing in the car, all the way there, and back.

Ella was in my women's bible study class, and such an inspiration to us all.  She told me that she was praying for me, as she did for many people.  I know she and Jesus are having a wonderful time up there!

I am Marnie Grube, Ella's granddaughter. She was married to my grandfather Henry Lesack. She loved my grandfather very much. Ella was such a warm and giving person. And she was such a tease at family get togethers. My life was enriched by knowing Ella.

My name is Maxine (Iseman) Chandler.  I grew up in eastern Colorado as did Ella.  We went to the same country school--First Central School.  I enjoyed remenising with Ellla about our mutual friends, classmates and teachers.  Ella worked with a group of us in putting together our First Central School reunions held in Boulder.  Oh what fun we had!!!  A few years ago, she rode to Burlington with my son and I to attend a funeral of a friend and classmate.  My son took us on a drive around the area Ella had grown up and we got to see a lot of the old homesteads or at least what was left of them.  We had the best time remembering the times gone past.  Ella had us laughing all the time.

Royce and Jeanie Walters, Burlington,Co.  I am a daughter of Leonard and Agnes Beeson.  My dad and Ella graduated the same year from First Central School south of Stratton, Co.  Oh my, the stories they could tell.  My dad was a big tease, but Ella could dish it right back to him.  I used to love to listen to them talking about "the good ole days".  Ella was such a wonderful Christian woman and such a good friend to my Dad and Mom.  They loved her very much.
