

Ernest Jesse Bocanegra died at home in Frederick, Colorado, on September 28th, 2014 at the age of 65. Ernie was born on August 27th, 1949 in Butte, Mt. He grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended East High School. Ernie was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 30 years of service.
Ernie was of short stature but big in heart. He was loved by many and was a great Husband/Companion, Dad and Grandpa, to his wife, 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Ernie loved to work and always liked to stay busy and had a true passion for the railroad. His hobbies included, working on locomotives and vehicles, listening to music, reading his bible, shopping -he had a long standing tradition of black Friday shopping as Christmas was one of his favorite holiday’s and spending time with his family and friends. Ernie was proud to be a 32nd degree Shriner and a Mason. He loved spending time at the Masonic lodge and helping children. But the most important priority throughout the years was his family.
Ernie is survived by his wife Rosie of almost 45 years , his daughter Tammy (Steve) Costello, his son Ernie Jr. (Janel) Bocanegra, and 3 grandchildren, Danae Costello (11), Alana Costello (7) and Ernie Bocanegra III (6), his step-mom Elva Bocanegra , his brothers Maxie (Darla) Jimenez and Ray (Joanne) Arguello, Fred (Beth) Juarez, Ricky (Lilian) Robb, his sisters Sandra (Ray) Lopez, Linda Perez, Sharon (Robert) Arguello, Debbie (Carlos) Ruiz, and Connie(Pete) Benaviedas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernie was preceded in death by his father Manuel Bocanegra, parents Raymond and Annie Arguello, mother Sheila Robb, his brother Angelo (Melba) Juarez and his brother Tony (Lindi) Perez.
