Evelyn was born on April 3, 1912 in St. Martinsville, Louisiana. She fell asleep in death on July 21, 2012 in
Denver, Colorado.
She was proceeded in death by Paul Guidry, father, Elvira Melancan-Guidry, mother, Herscel E Roy, son,
Walter Guidry, brother, Alta LaGrappe and Jean Wall, sisters.
Evelyn moved to Port Arthur Texas at the age of 17 and lived with her sister Alta. She was married to
Joseph A Roy (born March 2, 1900) on April 18, 1931. They were married 39 years. Joseph fell asleep in
death December 26, 1970. They had two children, Herschel E Roy born on September 15, 1933 and who
fell asleep in death in September 1943 and she is survived by her son John Alan Roy born on August 6,
1940. Her step-son Cleveland J Roy, born in 1921 has also fallen asleep in death.
Evelyn was married to Jack McMahon on June 4, 1973. They were married for 38 years. Jack fell asleep
in death on December 23, 2011.
She is survived by her son John A. Roy, Ann Roy daughter-in-law, Barbara Chauvin step-daughter,
Rebekah Bunting granddaughter, John Nobles grandson, Matthew Nelson step grandson, Nicole
Chauvin-Alexander and Catherine Elizabeth Chauvin, step-granddaughters, Jacob Bunting great
grandson, Austin Bunting great grandson, Breanne Nobles great granddaughter and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Upon her husband's death she moved to Centennial, Colorado to live with her surviving son John Roy
and Ann Roy, daughter-in-law.
Evelyn was a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and was a gracious hostess to her
friends and family members. She always had kind and complimentary words to say to everyone she met
and she will be missed by all.
(Psalm 37:11) 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their
exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
(Revelation 21:3-4) 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with
mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them.
4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor
outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
