Fern E. Terry

Fern Edith Terry was born on July 3, 1927 to parents Bessie and Harold Peter in Haxton, Colorado. Her life began on a farm in rural Colorado, until the family moved to Denver. Even though she was born on a farm, city life was a welcome change and better suited for her.

In 1944 she met Ernie Terry. She was cleaning behind a stove at her aunt Hattie and uncle Elich’s house. This encounter blossomed into a relationship, and they were married in 1946.

She was a career homemaker that doted on her husband, children, and grandchildren. In addition, she was a caregiver for the extended family, caring for her mom, helping after childbirth, and babysitting nieces and nephews.

Fern is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Harold Peter, her sister Elaine Severson, her sister Donna Terry, her daughter Dena Rae Terry, her daughter-in-law Patti Terry, her son-in-law Jerry Eckhardt, her step grandson A.J. Shambaugh, and her great grandson Dale Terry.

She is survived by her sisters Cheryl Sianis and Teri Begirski, her sons Dennis (Valerie) Terry and Clint (Dianne) Terry, her daughter Kelly Eckhardt, her 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren. In addition, by numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her BFF Stephanie Bloom.
