1 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. 2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? 5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. 6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: 7 all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, 8 the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 9 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Gregory Kenneth Hill was born on April 6, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Horace Kenneth Hill and Betty Ann Hill. He died on February 15, 2026, in Lakewood, Colorado.
Greg lived with his family in Butler, Missouri, until age 10 (playing a cowboy and Tarzan on the family farm); Fredericktown, Missouri, until age 14; and Grand Island, Nebraska, until age 18. He attended Oklahoma Christian College from August 1971 through August 1975, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.
Greg’s employment ranged from detasseling corn at age 14 to being employed in the insurance industry for 36 years. While detasseling corn was the most fun, his career involving insurance marketing, sales and service to companies in the telecommunications industry was the most rewarding. Professionally, he earned the designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Greg’s daughter, Stephanie Lynne Hill, was born on June 16, 1978, and she was the light of his life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of being her father, while also instilling in her the appreciation of playing sports and the love of nature and animals. From 1988 through 1996, they were active together in Westernaires, a nonprofit youth organization dedicated to teaching self-respect, responsibility and leadership through horsemanship and family participation. Greg also joyfully mentored Susan Brown through the same program from 1996 through 2004 and volunteered throughout the organization.
Greg and Kimette Louise Hill were married on September 17, 2004. They began careers within two weeks of each other at Farmers Union Insurance in 1988, and a friendship and special bond were made after working together for several years. Greg was fun and had a generous heart. He often experienced childlike delight in making the smallest of Kim’s desires come true, and they loved traveling to places near and far. Greg and Kim enjoyed working on projects together, especially taking part in the remodel of their home and small enhancements afterward. Greg’s greatest gift to Kim was helping her build a solid foundation of faith and love for our Lord.
Greg enjoyed establishing friendships; nearly all forms of nature; sports; singing, playing guitar and writing music; building a comprehensive ancestral family tree from 1630 to the present; and composing and recording Kit Carson projects that carried forward the family’s ancestral relationship so esteemed by his father, grandmother and great-grandmother. He took special delight in portraying a mountain man of the 19th century American West. As a community member, he was honored to sit on the Tactics and Response Subcommittee of the 2018 Jefferson County School District Safety and Security Community Task Force, helping to improve student safety and security.
Greg was baptized into Jesus Christ at the age of 11 and desired to live a life pleasing to the Lord. He studied God’s Word regularly and greatly enjoyed leading congregational singing in worship services. He treasured his family, friends and acquaintances and wished for them God’s rich blessings!
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Kimette Louise Hill; daughter, Stephanie Lynne Hill; and sisters, Beverly Ann Guyer, Debra Kay Chapman and Marcia Lynn Hume. He was preceded in death by parents, Horace Kenneth Hill and Betty Ann Hill, and grandparents, Walter Lincoln Hill, Ellen Cleo “Dolly” Hill, Roy Chatman Jones and Carrie Ethel Jones.
Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
