2020 in Morrison, Colorado.
He was a proud Coloradoan and graduate of Denver’s George Washington High School, class of 1983.
He was a natural born athlete and leader on the football and lacrosse teams. Greg enjoyed fly fishing,
owning a Willys jeep, caring for his beloved cat King, and spending time in the Colorado high country.
He started a house painting business with his lifelong friend Greg Pratt.
Greg wanted to be a positive force in the world. He replied, “right on” to almost any idea and cared
deeply about his family and friends. Greg had a strong spiritual commitment and his prayer list was
long. When he said he would pray for you, you knew you were in good hands! He was bright and
engaging, befriending everyone he met. Mental illness and multiple sclerosis overtook much of his
adult life, but his sweet soul sought to shine through.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Kaye Murphy, his sisters Cynthia Murphy, Julie Murphy Seavy, and
Jennifer Murphy, and brother Timothy Murphy, and nieces and nephews of whom he was intensely
proud, Allyson Murphy, Caitlyn Murphy Dunn, Kacey Murphy Brandt, Ryan Seavy, Kellen Seavy Kaye,
Brenna Murphy Estus, Hayden Murphy Estus, Maeve Murphy Estus, Parker Landry Murphy, and
Westley Landry Murphy, and great niece and nephew Khloe and Jackson Kaye. His father, David Alan
Murphy, preceded him in death.
