

At the age of 8, the family moved to Arvada due to her father’s tuberculosis. She graduated from Arvada High School in 1937. On April 6, 1941, she married Lyle Byron Wardle. They lived in Wheat Ridge where Lyle owned and operated Wardle and Sons Feed with his father and brothers—Roy and Glen.
During World War II, while Lyle was in the Army, Hilda packaged rations for the troops at the Federal Center and worked at the Wheat Ridge Post Office. She was a meticulous seamstress and enjoyed hand work—especially quilting, needlepoint and knitting. She was an avid reader and gardener. She loved trips to the mountains and family gatherings. Twelve years after Lyle’s death, she moved to Fort Collins to be near her children, Kathy and David.
Hilda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kathleen Robinson and husband, Terry; son, David Lyle Wardle and wife, Alicia; two grandchildren, Christopher Wardle and wife, Haylee with their children, Clayton, Charlize, Bruce and Izabelle; Amelia Wardle and husband to be, Jeff and caring friends, Scott and Carrie Ann Williams.

Hilda was a hard working woman who was loved by all. She was devoted to her family and will be missed.
