Jack Simmonds King

Age 78, passed away on June 30, 2016

Jack was born to Georgia and Harvey King on November 9, 1937 in Agra, Kansas.

He married Ellen Faye Vaughn April 1, 1956 at Reed Station, Illinois.

They celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Children include Beth Ellen Schmohr, spouse Donn; Rhonda Kaye Luebbers, spouse Steve; John R. King, spouse Cindy. He is Grandfather to Janell Kappel, spouse Justin; Jason Jones, spouse Leah; Travis Starr, fiancée Sarah; Andrew Schmohr, spouse Bobbi; Melissa King, Derek Luebbers, Jacquelyn Luebbers, Molly McGee, Caitlin McGee. He is Great Grandfather to Acen Schmohr, Callia Schmohr, Irelynn Kappel, Violet McGee and Hudson Jones.

He was “Papa Jack” to them and all of their friends.

Surviving siblings include,

Ruth Madden, Gene King, Phyllis Colson, and Don King.

He was baptized early in life at Agra Lake in Agra, Kansas.

He attended the Church of Christ.

He attended school in Agra, Kansas, North High School, Denver, Colorado and Technical Refrigeration School, Denver, Colorado.

He worked in commercial refrigeration sales and engineering.

He loved to sing and play guitar. He enjoyed history, with a special interest of the

Civil War and how coins played a part in history.

He spent many hours enjoying his family and was very involved in all of their activities.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Starr-King.

He had many qualities. Mostly his family enjoyed his great sense of humor and his ability to lighten difficult situations, especially with one word or one liners.

Jack's love was unconditional.
