He is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Gary (Carolyn), Larry (Johnna), daughter Lori (Ron), grandchildren; Cale, Cody, Kelci, Gage, Maddy, and Chandler. He also has 5 great grand children.
Jerry, a Colorado native, grew up in Lakewood where he attended Washington Heights Elementary, where he met his future wife. He graduated from Alameda High School (class of 1957).
After high school, Jerry was hired at Mountain States Telephone, eventually retiring in 1992 after 35 years of service.
Jerry was always a hard worker, and he knew that he was not done working after retiring from the phone company. He was hired as a Jefferson county school bus driver and continued there for 22 years. His bus was always the envy of the other drivers, as he kept it in the best condition of the entire fleet. He retired in 2014 from Jefferson county.
In his retirement, Jerry loved to help his children and grandchildren, ride his horse, and take long motorcycle rides with Phyllis. He also enjoyed spending his summers helping at Bandimere Speedway doing anything and everything to help races run smoothly. He very rarely took down time, but when he did, he could be found in his favorite chair taking a nap or reading a cowboy novel.
Jerry lived a full life and will be missed by all of those that knew him.
