Ji Ouyang 欧阳基

Ji was born in Guangzhou and was a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather. In Guangzhou, Ji was a caring and dedicated chemistry and mathematics teacher. His students have continuously kept in touch with him up to his passing, a testament to the lasting impact he had on their lives. As the eldest of seven children, Ji selflessly stepped into the role of provider, carrying the full financial responsibility for his family after his father’s passing. Ji was a hardworking and devoted family man who led by example in showing what it means to be a good parent and sibling.

After 53 years in Guangzhou, Ji and his family moved to Canada to pursue new and greater opportunities with his wife and son. There, he lived life to the fullest by becoming a tai chi instructor before moving to the United States. He loved to travel and collect mementos, listen to classical music, watch soccer, and spend time with his children and grandchildren.

All who met Ji can speak to his intelligence, kindness, and dedication. From preparing meals for his family, to taking care of daily household chores, to helping raise his grandchildren, he quietly showed his love through his actions. He was constantly a pillar of strength and support for our family. Finally, Ji was a loving husband who shared many devoted and loving years with his wife, HuiMin. While he may no longer be with us, his memory lives on in the years of guidance, laughter, and love. He is survived by his wife Huimin, his three siblings, his children Sandy and Sheng, and grandchildren.

He is so greatly loved and missed.

2026年1月4日上午，欧阳基在美国科罗拉多州丹佛市因自然原因安详离世，享年93岁。

在广州生活53年后，欧阳基与妻子及儿子移居加拿大，追寻崭新而广阔的生活机遇。在加拿大，他成为太极拳教练，活出了生命的饱满度，之后迁居美国。他热爱旅行并收集纪念品，喜爱聆听古典音乐、观看足球比赛，更享受与儿孙共度的温馨时光。

所有认识欧阳基的人都称赞他的智慧、仁厚与奉献精神。从为家人准备餐食、操持日常家务，到帮助抚养孙辈，他总是通过行动默默表达关爱，始终是家庭中坚不可摧的支柱。此外，他还是深情的丈夫，与妻子慧敏共同度过了许多相互扶持、充满爱意的岁月。虽他已离我们而去，但他多年的教诲、欢声笑语与无尽关爱将永远留存于世。他的妻子慧敏、三位兄弟姐妹、子女欧阳珊与欧阳生，以及孙辈将继续传承他的生命印记。
