

Born on July 31, 1944, in Seattle, Washington, John was raised in Bowbells, North Dakota. After graduating from North Dakota State University, John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he moved to Denver, Colorado and began his career in Jefferson County Public Schools as a math teacher, going on to earn his Masters Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. In his retirement, John embraced life to its fullest. He could often be found on the golf course, playing pickleball, watching sports, enjoying the camaraderie of friends, and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen, whom he met when he moved to Denver; his daughters, Stacey (Mark) Kervin and Kerry (Mike) Lander; his three grandsons, Brenden, Jack, and James; his brother, Parm (Susan) and his nieces and nephews.
John will be remembered for his one-of-a-kind laugh, his wandering spirit, and his thoughtful generosity.

Family and friends are invited to services at 9:00 AM on January, 29th at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236, where military honors will be rendered. Please arrive to Staging Area Red by 8:45 AM. Please remain in your vehicle to process to the committal shelter. Following the services, please join us for a Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM at Fossil Trace Golf Club, 3050 Illinois St, Golden, CO 80401.
