Katherine D. Treber, age 101, was born February 24, 1912, to George and Mary Dahmer in Parker, Idaho. At the age of 12, she moved to Wakeeney, Kansas. She lived there for three years before moving to Denver, CO.
She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1926. At the age of 15, she began working for the National Biscuit Company for a period of three years. In 1954, Katherine went to work for National Farmers Union Life Insurance Company. After 22 years of service, she retired in 1976.
In 1929 she married Adam Treber in Golden, CO. Adam passed away November 26, 1993. Three children were born to her and Adam: Harvey (deceased), LuAnn (deceased), and Norma, who survives.
She was very proud of eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was a devout Christian, and read her Bible daily; marking select verses with her trusty pink highlighter.
In her 90's she starred in several television commercials for Total Longterm Care and also appeared in several metro area periodicals for Total Longterm Care and for Seniors Inc.
Katherine was an excellent seamstress and was always "rescuing” our various sewing disasters. She made countless quilts and loved to crochet. She collected and loved poems. Kate was a huge fan of Starbucks Frappuccinos, “Duct” tape, and pink highlighters. She will be missed.
“With a grateful heart for the memories she created, the laughter she shared, the faith she lived, and the love freely given.
