

Kurt was born August 2, 1961 in Colorado, to loving parents, LeRoy and Carolyn (Bussard) Riddell. He spent the majority of his childhood living in Arvada Colorado. He worked hard in his youth. At the age of 17 when he was working at Ridgeview Market in Wheat Ridge, his soulmate and future wife entered the store. As soon as they locked eyes, they knew it would be forever.
He was also repossessing cars as a side gig. He worked 10-12 hour days. He and his wife would often work together repo'ing cars. When they were chased off by an armed man, they decided to leave this career behind.
He was dedicated, always working, earning to provide the life for his family that he did not have..He learned to weld and fabricate metals at Warren Tech in high school. He would go on to use this knowledge to build a future. The successful entrepreneur built his business from ground up lasting 30 years prior to retirement.
He was a very creative man. He designed and built many things including large commercial Christmas displays appearing throughout the world. SeaWorld, Disneyland, DisneyWorld, would display his crafts. Large department stores as well. From topiaries to 30'ft tall trees,to store display racks, shelving,to railings, to photography equipment, he did it all.
Kurt/Papa loved and cherished his family. Being a Father, then Grandfather, were his favorite roles.
He and Sandy would take them on many fulfilled trips, adventures, providing lifelong great memories.
He enjoyed beekeeping, gold panning, building race cars and driving them. He liked westerns, loved Elvis, classic cars and learning about history. He was a successful racecar driver competing at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, to Colorado National Speedway in Dacono. Many a memory made throughout his 30 year passion.
He and his loving Wife, Sandy, spent a wonderful 46 years together, 41 of which through marriage. Together they raised two amazing Sons, Keenan and Shane Riddell.
He genuinely enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it be vacations or simple outings. Nothing brought more joy than the ones he loved.
He leaves behind many including his Mother, Carolyn Riddell, Wife, Sandra Riddell, Sons, Keenan Riddell ,Shane Riddell, Daughter in law, Chelsea Riddell, Grandsons, Chase Riddell and Dashel Riddell, Sister in law, Cheryl Douglas, Brothers Kevin (Paula) Woertman, Kent (Julie) Riddell, Kyle Riddell, Kory Riddell, his lifelong friends, Brad Heimbecher, Dan Wittenberg and multiple Nieces and Nephews.
Kurt was indeed a very bright light to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed
